Well, Hello there! Thank you so much for stopping by. We are the Nagels… All seven of us (three grown children not in photo), horses, and a dog.
I, Athena, am the primary writer and creator for Simple Pennies, but I could never do what I do without the assistance and influence from my family. I have been blogging for 13 years as of 2021!
We still have two teens at home with special needs who need lots of love and attention. But, boy, those two have come such a long way! As you see, there are also two older children (and another one not in the photo) who also participate in all this “stuff” when the opportunity comes up. And my husband – he is a public school administrator.
We went years – decades – without a single vacation, and now we vacation a lot in Maine. Much of our time all year long is spent in CT, RI, MA, NH, and ME. We are always running somewhere to participate in something, creating as many memories for our family as we can. You all know life is just too short to do otherwise.
My experience includes freelancing, blogging, social media marketing, and more. I have an Associates’ degree in Liberal Arts, Bachelors’s Degree in Business Administration, and Masters’s Degree in Business Administration. Additionally, I have taken many natural health courses over the years – nutrition, homeopathy, herbology, iridology, botany, and more. Additionally, I worked as a business administrator for 22 years, a retirement administrator for 10 years, and other positions over the years have included: police department dispatcher, hostess, waitress, director of security, night auditor, hotels, and retail.
